Join the world’s only improvising opera company for an operatic adventure designed by you, the audience. Impropera will create a brand new opera from scratch before your very eyes; writing, composing and performing the piece simultaneously. The characters, situations and musical styles are chosen by you, so every night is a premiere (and a derniere)!

This is an interactive and entirely improvised show, where you are the audience, librettist, chorus member and dramaturg, all rolled into one. The evening is a joyful celebration of music and theatre, and what to do when you don’t have a plan.

This event is part of the Rye Arts Festival’s 50th-anniversary celebrations.

Venue Details:
The site will open at 6:30 pm and the bar will be open before the event. Please be aware this is an outdoor bar, which may be subject to closure by particularly inclement weather.
